The terms we use, in everyday language.
- Non-equity
- A club where members pay for access to stays. They do not own any part of a property, and have no deed or share in it.
- Destination club
- A membership that gives access to a collection of places, usually through a number of nights each year.
- Bank of nights
- The proposed way to use Almajour: a set number of nights each year to spend across the collection, under booking rules.
- Collection
- The group of properties a club offers. For Almajour, this is a direction. No property is confirmed.
- Boutique hotel
- A small hotel with its own character, as opposed to a large chain property.
- Estate
- A large private home or grounds, suited to families, friends or a company group.
- Booking window
- The period during which a stay can be requested for a given date. Rules are not set yet.
- Booking priority
- Whether some members could request dates before others. Not decided.
- Peak dates
- Busy periods such as holidays, when demand is highest and rules are often stricter.
- Buyout
- Taking a whole property for a private group, such as a family or company, for a stay or event. It means exclusive use, not ownership or equity.
- Illustrative
- Used on this site for any photograph or film. It means the image shows a mood, not an Almajour property.
- Planned
- Something we intend to build or offer. It is not available and may change.
- Waitlist
- A list for people who want to follow progress. At the moment it is inactive and collects nothing.
- Host
- The person intended to prepare a stay and be the first point of contact. Planned, not yet in place.
- Experience
- An optional addition to a stay, such as a guided walk or a private dinner. Any cost would be separate unless stated.
